SHIROKAWAGO
Shirokawago
If you go to Kamikouchi or Takayama,
then you might as well stop at Shirokawago, an outdoor museum of
traditional Japanese houses which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The actual museum is easy to miss since 95% of the visitors head
straight for the tourist area across the river via this concrete
bridge. The houses are worth seeing since you can go inside, and
several people actually live in the houses and practice various
traditional crafts.
