Located in Koganei Park in Tokyo, the Edo Tokyo Tatemono-en is an open-air museum where old buildings, mostly houses and stores, are preserved. The museum is a branch of the Edo Tokyo Museum in Ryogoku. You can enter all of the buildings, sans shoes of course, and can easily spend several hours there. Note that in winter time, walking around in your socks can get quite chilly.
