Tobu World Square in Nikko is one of the most unusual places I've been to in Japan. To call it a theme park or amusement park doesn't do it justice. It's a park where over 100, 1/25 scale, incredibly detailed models of famous buildings around the world are on display. Hundreds bonsai trees are used for landscaping, and there are about 140,000, 7 cm tall people, all different. Tobu World Square was completed in 1993 at a cost of about $150 million by the Tobu conglomerate which also operates a railway and department stores.
